Teaching Tools: These are websites for educators and students regarding mythology and writing.

American Culture: I began more intensive studies into American culture a decade ago in preparation for a course I had to teach. That led to a number of NEH grants, summer seminars, extended travels, lectures and a lot of reading. This website is an attempt to put all the study into perspective.

Camera Obscura: In addition to local travels throughout California, I've had the chance to tour England, New England, the mid-Atlantic states and the South from Florida to Louisiana. This site contains shots from a number of those travels, with annotations and a few cultural tidbits.

Songs from Below the Moon: These are a handful of compositions I've recorded in a few hours squeezed from teaching and my other interests. I was raised on rock 'n' roll and Broadway, and later started listening to classical and jazz. Those and other styles are here, as also are the people and moments I wanted to remember.

he background image for this writing is from a tintype of ancestors on my mother's side, Gobles and Crosses descended from Northern European immigrants. A century separates their world from mine. It's a fanciful notion, but I like to think that something of them remains with me, they and those on my father's side. This website in part remembers my family and my culture, all that has shaped me, what I was born with, and that envelopes me now. It is a celebration of what I have inherited and all, people, places and events, I have experienced. Please enjoy.
